About us
A San Jose team focused on the cause, not the quick swap
EliteAir Heating & Cooling works on homes across the South Bay, where the climate is mild overall but uneven in practice. Inland and southern parts of the Santa Clara Valley get much hotter in summer than neighborhoods near the Bay, and winters stay damp enough that heating still matters. Many houses here also carry older ductwork that has sagged, leaked or been patched over the years. That combination means a symptom like a warm bedroom can come from the equipment, the ducts, the thermostat or the house itself. Our technicians trace the problem with measurements, show you what they found, and lay out repair and replacement paths side by side so you can decide with full information. When a working system can keep running safely, we say so. When an aging one is no longer worth fixing, we explain why and what the alternatives look like, including heat pumps.

What to expect
How a visit goes
-
Measure first
Temperatures, pressures, electrical readings and airflow come before any recommendation, so the fix addresses the actual fault.
-
Show and explain
We point out failed parts or readings, describe what they mean, and answer questions until the choice makes sense to you.
-
Respect the home
Floor protection, careful attic and closet work, and a cleaned-up space before we leave are standard on every visit.
What types of systems do you work on?
Gas furnaces, central air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, thermostats, ductwork and indoor air quality equipment in single-family homes and townhomes.
How do I know whether to repair or replace?
We look at the age and condition of the system, the cost and likelihood of further failures, and how well it fits your home. You get both paths in writing and make the call.
Do Bay Area Air District rules require me to replace my furnace?
No. The rules do not require replacing working equipment. They apply when an existing furnace or water heater fails or is replaced. Gas furnaces made from 2029 must meet a zero-NOx standard.
Is there still a federal tax credit for heat pumps?
The 25C credit covered qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025. It is not available for installations after that date.
Are there local heat pump incentives?
BayREN and local clean energy providers offer programs that change by funding cycle. We confirm the current offer before including it in any quote.
Why is one room always hotter than the rest?
Common causes include leaky or undersized ducts, a poorly balanced system, sun exposure or insulation gaps. We check airflow at the registers to narrow it down.
How often should my system be maintained?
Once a year is a sensible baseline, with heat pumps and combined heating and cooling systems benefiting from attention before summer and winter.
